Postpartum doula care · Overnight newborn support

Somebody who's done this before.

Doula care for the first weeks home — the small panicked questions, the day that won't come together, and a calm answer to "is this normal?"

The first weeks home

You were never meant to do the nights alone.

What the help looks like

The first weeks, with help in the house.

Whether you're a first-time mom who has never held a baby, or you've done this before — it's a different baby, a different body, and a different year.

I'll teach you how to swaddle. I'll help you sleep while you recover. I'll help dad support you too, and help the whole family adjust to the new normal.

And I'll answer the questions you feel silly asking, because I've heard every one of them before.

Overnight newborn support

Someone else is awake for the two o'clock feed.

You might sleep, or you might not — but you won't be the only one awake.

It means you can sleep while you recover, instead of waiting until the baby does. And it means the person next to you gets support too — a lot of dads are holding more than they say.

This isn't about taking your baby from you. It's so you can be a person for an hour, and sleep for three.

Holding space for mom

Somebody has to ask how you're doing.

The baby gets weighed, checked and admired. You get asked how you're healing, whether you've eaten, and when you last slept — and then someone makes sure the answer changes.

So you can sleep while you recover. I'll help dad support you too, and help the whole family adjust to the new normal.

You get to be looked after as well as the baby. That's the whole point of it.

The first step

Start with a hello.

You don't have to know what you need yet. A due date, a bad day, a question — one sentence is enough.
